The Oxford Film Festival returns Thursday, March 18, to Saturday, March 20, 2027. The festival, known as OxFilm, has posted the 2027 dates and opened film submissions. The schedule, venues and single tickets have not been posted yet; this page will carry them as soon as the festival does.

When it is

The 2027 festival runs three days, Thursday, March 18, through Saturday, March 20, according to the festival’s home page. Visit Oxford, the city’s tourism bureau, lists the same dates.

That is about three weeks later than in 2026, when the festival ran Thursday, Feb. 26, to Saturday, Feb. 28. The 2026 official selections page lists the films screened on each of those three days.

What it is

OxFilm celebrates independent cinema. In its mission statement, the festival says it works year round to encourage filmmaking in Oxford and North Mississippi and to build an audience for film through screenings, workshops and educational programs that “culminate in the annual festival.”

The festival is not new. Its online archive begins with the 2003 lineup.

Past festivals have paired screenings with conversations. The 2026 Thursday feature, for example, was followed by a discussion and a Q&A with the filmmaking team.

Tickets and passes

The festival sells memberships through its Eventive store. Prices for 2027 passes and single tickets were not published as of Oct. 14, 2026. Check the festival’s website for the box office once the schedule is out.

Where it is

The festival has not named its 2027 venues yet. We will add the theaters, addresses and parking here when it does. For lodging, food and directions, the festival points visitors to its Visiting Oxford page, which notes that Oxford is about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car from Memphis International Airport.
