Mother’s Day event
The Oxford Park Commission holds a free Mother’s Day event at the Oxford Activity Center, 400 Price St. Its 2026 special events list put it on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The 2027 date is not out yet. The commission says its special events are free, open to all ages and usually start in the early evening, between 5 and 7 p.m., with changes posted on its social media.
Gift markets and shops
- Oxford Community Market runs year-round on Tuesdays from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at the Old Armory Pavilion, 1801 University Ave.; the Tuesday before Mother’s Day is May 4. Details are on our farmers markets guide.
- Mid-Town Farmers’ Market ran Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7 to 11 a.m., from May 1 in 2026 at Mid-Town Shopping Center, 709 N. Lamar Blvd.; its 2027 season has not been announced.
- The Square has boutiques, gift shops and Square Books; Visit Oxford’s shopping directory lists more than 80 shops. Oxford Commons, off Sisk Avenue, adds boutiques and gift stores.
