Eight of the 12 restaurants on this list are on Jackson Avenue West, from the 1500 block (Bep Haus, Rice and Spice, The Noodle Bowl) out to the 2300 and 2500 blocks (Toyo and Thai Thai Today). The others are China Royal and H2Oxford on University Avenue and Jinsei and Zaap on North Lamar.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Oxford’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 16, 2026. We added Bep Haus, Rock N’ Roll Sushi, Thai Thai Today and Zaap from Visit Oxford’s dining directory. Where a place has no website of its own, a recent record in the state health department’s food facility search confirms it is operating. We left off Chidoriya Ramen & Poke and New Panda, with no state inspection in the past year, Sakura Hibachi and Aloha Thai-Hawaiian, whose sites no longer load, and Mi & Tea Pho House, which Visit Oxford lists as temporarily closed. This list covers East and Southeast Asian food, so the Indian restaurant Maharaja on Jackson Avenue West is not included. Bep Haus has no website we could find. Visit Oxford describes a family-run Vietnamese kitchen serving pho, banh mi, bun bo hue and vermicelli bowls. A Dec. 9, 2025, state inspection confirms it is operating.

China Royal on University Avenue is a family-run Chinese restaurant, Visit Oxford says. The menu link Visit Oxford gives forwards to a third-party site. A Nov. 7, 2025, state inspection confirms it is operating.

Chow King Grill & Buffet is a Chinese and grill buffet with sushi, according to Visit Oxford. Its own site did not load for us; a May 28, 2026, state inspection confirms it is operating.

H2Oxford Oriental Cafe on University Avenue serves Vietnamese and Chinese food, Visit Oxford says. A Sept. 16, 2026, state inspection confirms it is operating.

Jinsei is a Japanese restaurant and sushi lounge on North Lamar. The website that comes up under its name belongs to a separate Jinsei in Alabama. A Dec. 30, 2025, state inspection confirms the Oxford restaurant is operating.

Kabuki is a sushi bar and Japanese steakhouse that takes orders online, its site says.

The Noodle Bowl Asian Bistro lists noodle bowls, stir-fries, curries and sushi on its site; Visit Oxford lists the phone above.

Rice and Spice Thai Kitchen serves Thai food for dine-in and phone orders, with separate lunch and dinner hours.

Rock N’ Roll Sushi is a sushi chain with an Oxford restaurant on Jackson Avenue West.

Thai Thai Today is a Thai restaurant at 2580 Jackson Ave. W. with a midday break on weekdays.

Toyo Japanese Sushi Bar & Hibachi has sushi, platters and a hibachi dinner menu, takes phone orders and reservations and delivers through a local service.

Zaap Thai Kitchen on North Lamar serves Thai and Vietnamese food, Visit Oxford says. Its web address shows only a placeholder page. A Nov. 18, 2025, state inspection confirms it is operating.
